Welcome Week introduces new and continuing students to SLCC’s vibrant campus life. 

It's held during the first three weeks of Fall Semester and offers opportunities to explore Salt Lake Community College’s comprehensive resources, to meet other students, and to attend events and programs designed especially for new and returning college students. 

We encourage all students to attend free Welcome Week events. You'll have a great time and get to know your new campus.

#100DaysSLCC Kick Off: Who the Bleep is that Sheep?

SLCC’s Academic and Career Advising office is “coming of age” with a brand new career exploration social media campaign!  #100DaysSLCC will kick off the “100 Days of Career Exploration” where students can explore major options in a fun and interactive way.  The yearly mascot, following the Chinese Zodiac, begins with Peep the Sheep. Follow along on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and Blogspot to see what Peep is up to and learn about the various programs and resources that are offered at the college.  Peep and the campaign will debut during Welcome Week for Fall 2015 and continue through the Fall and Spring semesters. Even though it’s the year of the sheep, don’t be afraid to break away from the flock. Come learn all about the SLCC Cooperative Education Program and how to get involved. Learn how you can earn college credit while working!

The Community Engagement Fair

The Community Engagement fair is an opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to meet the Thayne Center’s community partners. Attendees will have the chance to learn about service-learning, volunteer opportunities, and all the great work being done in the community. Students can learn about Thayne Center student programming. Staff can find a place to spend their Community Engagement Leave hours. Faculty can find partners for service-learning classes. We’ll be sharing donuts and pizza with attendees that visit at least four tables.

Tutoring & Learning Center at Markosian Library Hosts:

Open House
SEPTEMBER 8 – 10:30am – 2:30pm – Taylorsville Redwood Campus, Markosian Library

Exciting Open House! Popcorn, food, fun! The Redwood Tutoring and Learning Center is having an Open House to celebrate our new center! We’ve remodeled and have new lounge space for students who want a place to gather. We have new study tables, private cubicles, and group space. You can plugin to charge your devices.

On September 8th, join us for a fun time in our center located in the lower level of the Markosian Library. We’ll be here from 10:30 to 2:30. Everyone’s invited. CLUB RUSH / RESOURCE FAIR
SEPTEMBER 8, 9, & 10 - 11am – 1pm

Learn about SLCC’s diverse clubs and organizations and Resources and Services offered for students, which will be gathered in one place to help you get connected and involved both on and off campus. With over 60+ clubs/organizations there is something for everyone! If your SLCC student organization is interested in participating, sign up on your OrgSync account.

SLCC Business School is Utah’s First to be Named Exclusively After a Woman

Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) proudly announces a partnership with the Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Foundation to modernize its Business Building and transform its School of Business. The improvements are made possible through a generous $10 million gift from the Miller Family Foundation and Gail Miller, the largest-ever single cash donation received by the college.  SLCC is renaming its Business Building the Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Business Building in honor of the Miller family’s legacy and contributions to the community. The business school will be named the Gail Miller School of Business in recognition of the strong business acumen Gail Miller displays as a community leader and as the owner and immediate past chair of the Larry H. Miller Company. You’re Invited to A Party! Open House Kicks off New Herriman Campus

  Complimentary food truck fare, live music, and family activities spotlight new campus.   There’s something for everyone at the upcoming Herriman Campus Community Open House on Friday, August 4 (3:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.).
