Did you know the Markosian Library has group study rooms?

There are currently five group study rooms located in the lower level of the Markosian Library at the Redwood campus.

These rooms offer a great place for small groups of students to work on their class projects or have a general group study with plenty of privacy!

Some guidelines for these rooms:

·      They are designed for groups of two or more people.
·      These study rooms are first come, first serve and are equipped with marker boards, TVs with hookups and large table space with chairs. 
·      No reservations or holding rooms are required.
·      The group needs to show up together to use the room.
·      As long as the room is empty, all your group needs to do is enter and start studying!

For individual study we offer the Quiet Study in Room 226 located on the 2nd level/upper floor of the library. This room is designed for several people at once, and it is set up with individual partitions to study quietly.

 The group study rooms are available to use the same hours that the Learning Commons (located in the lower level of the library) are open. For the Learning Commons updated hours of operation, please call 801-957-4172.

SLCC Alumnus and U.S. Diplomat to Speak at 2025 Commencement

Salt Lake Community College’s 2025 Commencement speaker Branigan Knowlton will share his perspectives drawn from a 12-year career as a Foreign Service Officer with the U.S. Department of State. In serving his country, Knowlton has honed his foreign relations and diplomacy skills in Hong Kong, Mexico, Colombia and Italy. Knowlton is also a proud Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) alumnus (2002).     Knowlton currently serves at the U.S. Embassy in Rome. Before reporting to the embassy, he was detailed to the Italian Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport as part of the Transatlantic Diplomatic Fellowship program. In Bogotá, Knowlton worked for the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement, and in Hermosillo, Mexico, he worked for the Bureau of Consular Affairs.
