SLCC Wins Big at National and Regional Awards

Salt Lake Community College recently received national and regional awards for work with students and the college community.

The Institutional Marketing and Communications department received honors from the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations at this year's Paragon Awards in Las Vegas. The annual awards recognize outstanding achievement in design and communication at community and technical colleges. This year, more than 230 two-year colleges in North America submitted over 1,900 entries.

The college received four awards for marketing and public relations efforts, as well as the prestigious Best in Show Award for their work on enrollment efforts.

The college was also recognized by the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) at the CASE District VII Awards of Excellence, winning a Silver Award for "Best Practices in Diversity" for the successful I am SLCC campaign. The annual awards program showcases best practices in alumni relations, fundraising, public relations, advancement services, special events and communications.

Recognizing SLCC's 2025 Distinguished Faculty Lecturer Andrew Vogt, PhD Associate Professor, Engineering

The Distinguished Faculty Lecturer is a recognition of quality work by one of Salt Lake Community College’s full-time faculty and a charge to develop that work over an academic year into a public presentation. A committee chosen by the Associate Provost for Learning Advancement selects the faculty lecturer each year. The lecture takes place in the spring. Distinguished Faculty Lecturer Andrew Vogt, PhD Associate Professor, Engineering Dr. Andrew Vogt’s teaching philosophy is guided by two principles, curiosity and efficiency.  “Curiosity leads us to study a topic and allows us to really understand the ins and outs of research, while efficiency is all about sustainability,” he says.
