Registration tutorial guides students through vaccination requirement for Spring Semester

Salt Lake Community College wants to take the worry out of registering for classes as we implement a COVID-19 vaccination requirement to the process.

As previously announced, all students, with the exception of high school students participating in our early enrollment and concurrent enrollment programs, must show proof of a COVID-19 vaccination or declare an exemption in order to register for Spring Semester 2022. To help students understand the process of uploading proof of vaccination or claiming an exemption, we’ve created a registration tutorial at slcc.edu.

Why the need to declare vaccination status during registration?

In an ongoing effort to address overall public health and safety during this pandemic and to create a safe learning environment for everyone, SLCC, along with other Utah System of Higher Education institutions, is asking everyone registering for Spring Semester to either show proof that they were vaccinated or declare a vaccination exemption. This step must be completed before students will be allowed to register.

The process is relatively simple, as outlined below:

  1. Log into your MySLCC account (if you’re new to SLCC, you will need to create an account) and select the Registration tab.
  2. You will see a link for a vaccination status form – click on that, and follow the instructions. PLEASE NOTE: If you upload your vaccination card, you will need to refresh your browser after you are done with your upload. If you are using college scheduler rather than MySLCC, once you upload your vaccination card you will need to log out and then log back in before you can continue with the registration process.
  3. Once you have successfully completed the form, you will be allowed to continue the registration process and select your classes for Spring Semester.

Click here to be taken to the tutorial if you still have questions.

If you have other questions about the vaccine mandate and related issues, click here for SLCC’s vaccination requirement FAQ page.

SLCC is also offering several COVID-19 vaccine clinics at no cost to students and their families. More information about those can be found by clicking here.

Recognizing SLCC's 2025 Distinguished Faculty Lecturer Andrew Vogt, PhD Associate Professor, Engineering

The Distinguished Faculty Lecturer is a recognition of quality work by one of Salt Lake Community College’s full-time faculty and a charge to develop that work over an academic year into a public presentation. A committee chosen by the Associate Provost for Learning Advancement selects the faculty lecturer each year. The lecture takes place in the spring. Distinguished Faculty Lecturer Andrew Vogt, PhD Associate Professor, Engineering Dr. Andrew Vogt’s teaching philosophy is guided by two principles, curiosity and efficiency.  “Curiosity leads us to study a topic and allows us to really understand the ins and outs of research, while efficiency is all about sustainability,” he says. Andrew describes curiosity as a pure, open-minded impulse to explore, such as the ease with which children learn new concepts with virtually no instruction. Efficiency adds maturity to that childlike impulse, creating structures and pathways for accomplishment.  Andrew’s work has alwa...
