Each student enrolled in Salt Lake Community College’s Radiologic Technology Class of 2012 has passed the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) National Board Exam. The program has a total of 39 students, all of whom successfully completed the qualifying exam that is the national standard used by employers, state licensing agencies, and federal regulators to indicate a person has met a recognized national standard for medical imaging, interventional procedures, and radiation therapy professionals.
“It is outstanding—and we are obviously pleased—that all of our students were successful in passing this exam,” said SLCC radiologic technology program coordinator David Neil. “This result lets us know that the work we are doing here is working. It’s an indication that the education and training our students receive is preparing them with all of the skills and qualifications needed by the healthcare industry today.”
The College’s graduating class of 2012 has two learning cohorts, an evening group with 16 students and a daytime group with 23 students. The average score for all SLCC students on the exam was 89%. Prior to taking the exam, students must meet basic education, ethics, and examination requirements, including having completed an accredited education program within the past five years
