The certificate of completion program will begin in January 2013. Students can now apply for the program. Courses will be offered online and will have flexible scheduling so that students will be able to complete the program in one year.

The College’s Health IT program will provide training in transferring health information on medical records to Electronic Health Records (EHR), Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and security systems, and the new ICD10 medical coding.

This new program will prepare students for new jobs in the medical industry and offer career advancement and improved earning potential for those already working in the industry.

This program is administered through the Utah WERKS (Workforce Education & Retraining for Knowledge & Skills) program. Utah WERKS is a consortium of six colleges and universities in Utah that has received funding from the U.S. Department of Labor under the Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training (TAACCCT) grants program.

The purpose of the grant is to expand and improve the State of Utah’s ability to deliver education and career training programs that can be completed in two years or less for workers who have lost their jobs or are threatened with job loss as a result of foreign trade.

Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) proudly announces a partnership with the Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Foundation to modernize its Business Building and transform its School of Business. The improvements are made possible through a generous $10 million gift from the Miller Family Foundation and Gail Miller, the largest-ever single cash donation received by the college.  SLCC is renaming its Business Building the Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Business Building in honor of the Miller family’s legacy and contributions to the community. The business school will be named the Gail Miller School of Business in recognition of the strong business acumen Gail Miller displays as a community leader and as the owner and immediate past chair of the Larry H. Miller Company. This name change will make SLCC home to the only business school in Utah and one of only a few in the country to be named exclusively after a woman.  “We are deeply humbled by the generosity of Gail and the Miller fam
