A message from SLCC President Bioteau:

Dear Colleagues,

My wish for you this holiday break is that you will have time with family, friends, and for yourself as you take in the energies of this joyous, yet solemn season. We have much to be grateful for and I hope you recognize the many blessings unique to each of us with each day. As we close our college for the next week, I wanted to also share the magnificent news that  our SLCC Chamber Singers will travel on January 17 to Washington DC to participate in the Inauguration Choir competition.  Our college will be represented by forty students/faculty and staff will be going on the trip, competing, and attending the Inauguration on January 21. They will return to SLC on Jan. 22.

Looking ahead, the Division of Communication and Performing Arts will be hosting a farewell concert for them on the evening of Tuesday. Jan. 15 on the TR Campus in TB 203. Administrators, faculty, staff and students will be invited to attend to wish them farewell. The Division of Communication and Performing Arts via the Mass Communication Center will also be sending a faculty/student documentary video crew on the trip to shoot and then produce a documentary about the entire event.

I close this message with the following holiday greeting:http://www.slcc.edu/webmedia/holidays/index.html
Please know how very much I appreciate the dedicated work and excellence you have brought to our college over this Fall semester.

Happy Holidays,
President Bioteau

SLCC Business School is Utah’s First to be Named Exclusively After a Woman

Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) proudly announces a partnership with the Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Foundation to modernize its Business Building and transform its School of Business. The improvements are made possible through a generous $10 million gift from the Miller Family Foundation and Gail Miller, the largest-ever single cash donation received by the college.  SLCC is renaming its Business Building the Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Business Building in honor of the Miller family’s legacy and contributions to the community. The business school will be named the Gail Miller School of Business in recognition of the strong business acumen Gail Miller displays as a community leader and as the owner and immediate past chair of the Larry H. Miller Company. This name change will make SLCC home to the only business school in Utah and one of only a few in the country to be named exclusively after a woman.  “We are deeply humbled by the generosity of Gail and the Miller fam
