Course Evaluations Summer 2013

Complete your course evaluations ONLINE get your final grades early! July 22- August 13 (official grade release date is 8/15/2013) It's easy, anonymous and Course evaluations provide: 1. Information to future students lined through the searchable class schedule. 2. Information to instructors to help them improve classes. 3. Information to academic administrators on how students evaluate classes. 4. Information necessary to meet accreditation standards for higher eduction institutions. Your name or personal identifying information is NOT REQUIRED to anyone (including instructors). It is simply logged in the system to indicate that you completed your evaluations. 

Touch of Polynesia 2013

Join us for the Touch of Polynesia, Pacific Islander Music and Dance Concert! When: Thursday, July 18 at 7:30 pm Where: Taylorsville Redwood Campus, Alder Outdoor Amphitheater Free event, open to all!The touch of Polynesia music and dance show is to help educate, promote, and share Pacific Island culture to everyone within and beyond the SLCC community. The performances will be filled with chants, folk songs, and melodious tunes throughout the evening by two bands and a variety of dance companies. The dancing wil range anywhere from the beautiful Hawaiian hula to the fast-paced hip shaking of Tahiti and from the quick movements of the Samoan slap dance to the group Lakalaka dance from Tonga. This will be an event the whole family can enjoy. Please be prepared to be entertained unlike anything in Utah. Because although we are unable to take everyone to the islands, before this night is through, we will ensure you'll get a Touch of Polynesia!

SLCC Athletic Director Norma Carr receives Pioneers of Progress Award

Norma Carr, athletic director at SLCC, has received the 2013 Days of ‘47 Pioneers of Progress Award for sportsmanship and athletics. The six awardees, including Carr, were honored at a gala banquet at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City. She will also be honored, and participate in the Days of ’47 Parade. Carr herself has a rich pioneer history in Utah and is a descendant of Anson Call and Annie Call Carr. She is also a pioneer in her own right, and was the first woman to serve as athletic director in Utah. Carr’s work has inspired and empowered athletes, especially women, to achieve great things on and off the field. Norma Carr began as the athletic director for SLCC in 1989 and built a struggling 2-sport program to what it is today. She also helped oversee construction for the Lifetime Activities Center and Bruin Arena, as well as Cate Field and softball diamond. Carr has won many titles and awards over the years as director.
