College Unveils Unique Playground at Early Childhood Lab

Salt Lake Community College opened its new “nature playground” at the Eccles Early Childhood Development Lab School, located at 4600 S. Redwood Road in Taylorsville.

The new nature-based playground is a premier environment that has been created to follow national best practices in quality early childhood education. The new outdoor environment allows children to explore the world around them in meaningful and engaging ways. As a departure from the typical playground, the goal is to have an outdoor classroom that offers places to climb, crawl, build, explore, hide, experiment with water, dig, garden, increase curiosity and create personal connections that instill and broaden an appreciation of the natural world.

Salt Lake Community College’s annual Undergraduate Projects, Performances, Presentations, and Research Conference (UP3RC) is set to take place on April 2, at the Taylorsville Redwood Campus, offering students a chance to showcase their academic achievements, fostering a culture of intellectual exchange.
