Salt Lake Community College’s Computer Sciences and Information Systems Division hosts an annual girl’s technology camp in June called Bytes of Brilliance. The camp is catered to girls ages 10-17 in hopes of shedding light on the importance of women going into STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) field careers. This year’s camp drew about 35 participants from all different backgrounds. For the first day of camp, the girls learned the basics of animation from instructor Chad Erekson at SLCC’s Center for Arts & Media on the South City Campus. Below are a few highlights from the day.
