SLCC Thanks Larry Hancock, SLCC Trustee 2006-2013

The College thanks Trustee Larry Hancock for his years of dedicated service to SLCC. Larry was appointed to the Board of Trustees in 2006, and served an amazing champion for the College since. His last official day as a Trustee was June, 30 2013. He will surely continue to support and advocate for the College and the College will continue to be a part of his and his family’s lives.

At the Board of Trustees meeting on August 14, Larry was presented with a plaque in recognition of his service to the College by President Bioteau. He spoke movingly of the connection he has had with SLCC since becoming a Trustee and how much many members of his family have enjoyed learning at the College.

Larry brought a professional background to his position on the SLCC Board that includes 25 years of leadership over health systems, health insurance plans, and hospitals to his role on the Board. He served as president of Iasis Healthcare’s Utah market from 2003 to 2007, where he was responsible for the operations and strategic direction of four hospitals: Davis, Salt Lake Regional, Jordan Valley, and Pioneer Valley.

Currently the chief executive officer of Intermountain Healthcare’s Urban Central Region, which includes five hospitals with 852 staffed beds in the Salt Lake area, Larry oversees 8,000 employees, 900 affiliated physicians, and more than 250,000 members of SelectHealth, Intermountain Healthcare’s health plan.

All of us at the College thank Larry for his leadership and wish him the best as he moves on from his formal affiliation on the Board of Trustees.

Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) proudly announces a partnership with the Larry H. & Gail Miller Family Foundation to modernize its Business Building and transform its School of Business.
