Salt Lake Community College has named Kevin M. Dustin as the
College’s new director of athletics, overseeing the College’s nationally
competitive five-sport program.
“We are
excited to have someone of Kevin Dustin’s caliber joining the SLCC athletic
program. I believe Kevin will carry on Norma Carr’s legacy of leading the
athletic program with integrity,” said SLCC Interim Vice President of Student
Services Nancy Singer. “His development experience, high school athletics
experience, and his ability to build collaborative partnerships will serve the
College and our student athletes well.”
Carr led the SLCC athletics program for 25 years, and in
that time she oversaw the construction of multiple athletics facilities for the
Bruins. She has helped guide the coaches and teams under her watch to numerous
Scenic West Athletic Conference and Region 18 championships, including the 2009
NJCAA National Championship in men’s basketball. SLCC competes in men’s and
women’s basketball, softball, women’s volleyball and baseball.
Dustin worked for Utah State University and brings to the
SLCC job extensive Division 1 experience in administration, fundraising,
supervising coaches and marketing. Since 2009 he has worked for the Utah High
School Activities Association, where most recently he has been the assistant
director.
