Study Abroad & Domestic Study 2020

Get engaged with SLCC’s Study Abroad and Domestic Study programs in 2020!  Through integrating classroom and community-based experiential learning, you will gain an understanding of the diverse global environments and cultures around us. Gain an understanding and appreciation of human differences, develop language skills, dive into service, undergraduate research or study global literature through international and domestic travel.

Outside of academics, these programs can also be incredible personal growth opportunities as well as a resume booster. NAFSA: Association of International Educators, recently highlighted an article written by SI News titled 10 Reasons Employers Love Graduates Who Have Studied Abroad. It goes on to say that employers are looking for employees who have broad, global experience, cultural awareness, problem solving skills, advanced social skills fresh perspectives, and an appreciation for diversity. Furthermore, participating in something like study abroad or domestic study demonstrates your enthusiasm, your ability to problem solve, self-sufficiency, adaptability, and your ability to take risks and initiative.

Stepping outside the classroom and experiencing your learning in communities different from yours, both in the U.S. and abroad, is an enriching experience academically, personally and professionally. Join us as we dive into our global classroom!
