Common Registration Questions Related to SLCC’s Vaccine Requirement

As registration has opened for Spring Semester, a few questions have come up regarding SLCC’s student vaccination requirement.

What if I am not fully vaccinated, but I’m in the process of getting this done?

You can upload your current vaccination card and when you are fully vaccinated, you can update your vaccination card by going to the Campus Life tab in MySLCC and under Health & Wellness select COVID submit vaccination status link.

Do you have more information on exemptions?

Examples of exemptions include:

Personal – Any personal belief that would prevent you from being vaccinated (i.e. philosophical, scientific, moral or personal views on vaccinations).

Religious – Any religious belief that would prevent you from being vaccinated. Some people believe that vaccinations conflict with a genuine and sincere religious belief and that the belief is in fact religious, and not based merely on philosophical, scientific, moral, personal or medical opposition to immunizations. For example, some religions do not believe in modern day medicine, so vaccinations or any other type of medicine is not allowable.

Medical – Scenarios include: you have a disease or take medicine that weakens their immune system, you have a severe allergy to a vaccine or an ingredient in it, you have had a serious reaction to a vaccine in the past or you have a medical exemption from a physician.

(Note: The above are examples only and do not include a full comprehensive list.)

I am having issues submitting my vaccination card, what do I do?

Review the COVID Vaccine form instructions and ensure you are following the steps correctly. If you are still experiencing issues, please contact the HelpDesk at 801-957-5555 for assistance.

How long will it take for the vaccination registration hold to be removed?

It usually takes 5 to 10 minutes, but during peak registration times, it can take up to 20 minutes. Please make sure to refresh your browser if you are using Banner Registration. If you are using College Scheduler, please sign out completely and then sign back in to register.

HB 261 and HB 257 Frequently Asked Questions

Dear Faculty, Staff and Students: The Utah Legislature recently passed two bills that significantly impact higher education:  HB 261  Equal Opportunity Initiatives and HB  257  Sex-Based Designations for Privacy, Anti-Bullying, and Women’s Opportunities. Salt Lake Community College is deeply committed to our students, faculty, and staff. We strive to be a place where all are welcomed and respected. While there are many unknowns about the ultimate effect these bills will have on some student and staff support programs, be assured that SLCC will maintain an environment where all can find success and feel a sense of belonging. In the coming months, college leadership will work to gain clarity and determine the changes necessary for legislative compliance. We will also share this information as it becomes available.  We realize that during this time, some in our college community may feel unsettled and stressed. We encourage you to make use of available SLCC resources designed to support y
