Arrival of Scholarship Funds Celebrated at Consulate of Mexico

Salt Lake Community College’s Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs Director Shellie Jo Enscoe and other SLCC staff members gathered at the Consulate of Mexico in Salt Lake City to accept a ceremonial $9,000 check from the IME Becas Scholarship fund.

The check from IME Becas represents matching funds that are being added to $10,000 raised by a small group of SLCC staff members who last year coordinated the first Bruin Becas Scholarship Dinner - funds raised during that dinner were matched by an anonymous donor. SLCC was awarded the matching funds from IME Becas for students who are Mexican and/or from Mexican origin. Applications for those scholarships are currently available.

Salt Lake Community College’s annual Undergraduate Projects, Performances, Presentations, and Research Conference (UP3RC) is set to take place on April 2, at the Taylorsville Redwood Campus, offering students a chance to showcase their academic achievements, fostering a culture of intellectual exchange.
