Salt Lake Community College is hosting the exhibit "Faces of Change: the college students who confronted rape culture in Utah,” currently on display in the George S. and Dolores Dore Eccles Gallery at the Center for Arts and Media on SLCC’s South City Campus.
The exhibit contains a series of portraits of students and former students who say they were sexually assaulted while attending Utah colleges. The Salt Lake Tribune gathered stories from more than 60 women and men in 2016, and their accounts shaped the newspaper's coverage of how colleges across Utah are responding to assault allegations and working to prevent sexual violence. The Tribune won the Pulitzer Prize for Local Reporting in 2017 for its coverage of these issues.
Tribune staff will offer a panel discussion about this series for students and faculty on January 31, 4:30-5:30 p.m. in the TV Studio (1-053), at the Center for Arts and Media. A public reception will follow in the East Foyer near the gallery space.
