Last summer, a devastating fire broke out at Salt Lake Community College's ATC building on the Taylorsville Redwood Campus. Much of the structure was destroyed, and since the fire SLCC has been determining the best options for the site. This evaluation is complete, and the college will begin preserving the building as much as possible and rebuilding the areas destroyed by fire.
In preparation for this work, interior cleaning and abatement has begun at the ATC, and the college is reviewing design proposals from several architecture firms. Demolition of the building’s damaged areas is scheduled for late May.
Once a design has been approved, the school will evaluate contractor bids for reconstruction. If everything progresses as planned, the ATC may open in fall 2022. Watch for updates in your SLCC Today.
