Hello Bruins! We hope this message finds you well and that your semester is off to a great start.
As you are aware, state leaders recently granted Utah System of Higher Education institutions more flexibility in decisions regarding COVID-19 vaccination requirements for spring semester.
Throughout the pandemic, we have been mindful of the health of our college and our local community and as such, we’ve implemented many precautions related to COVID-19. Given the increasing number of cases due to the Delta variant, we have made a decision to adopt a vaccination requirement for all SLCC students beginning Spring Semester 2022. We are requiring that students be vaccinated before registering for spring classes.
To support students in meeting this requirement, we are offering several vaccination clinics on campus. These clinics are free and open to everyone. Details on the vaccination clinics can be found on our blog. We encourage you to get vaccinated as soon as possible.
We understand that not all can be vaccinated for COVID-19, and exemptions may be granted for medical, religious and personal reasons.
Details regarding the process to upload vaccination documentation as well as the the process for claiming an exemption will be communicated as part of the registration process.
While this vaccination effort gets underway, we ask that you continue to be diligent in wearing face coverings while on campus, especially in our classrooms and other learning spaces where social distancing is difficult. Along with vaccination, we know that wearing a face covering is an effective way to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 and something nearly all of us can do to keep our SLCC community safe and well.
We’re grateful for your patience and flexibility, and appreciate all who have been taking precautions to slow the spread of the virus. It’s important that we continue to take care of each other during this challenging and unpredictable time. With all of us doing what we can, when we can, we will ensure that SLCC continues to be a safe place where all can focus on learning and growth.
