You’re Invited to A Party! Open House Kicks off New Herriman Campus

Complimentary food truck fare, live music, and family activities spotlight new campus.

There’s something for everyone at the upcoming Herriman Campus Community Open House on Friday, August 4 (3:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.). See schedule below.

The public is invited to celebrate the opening of this new campus with festivities that include free local food truck fare, live music, and a Mocktail Mixer, where you can mingle with others, including Salt Lake Community College (SLCC) and University of Utah (U of U) faculty.

Families with kids can engage in face painting and a craft station, see the Super Mario Brothers movie, and high-five mascots Brutus, Swoop and Yeti.

This is an opportunity to have some summer fun for all ages and to check out the Juniper building on the new 88-acre SLCC Herriman campus.

At the open house, prospective students and their families can meet SLCC and U of U faculty and staff, take a tour the building, or even check out the Application & Transfer Lab and see how easy it is to enroll.

In the new Juniper Building on the Herriman campus, students can now earn an associate's degree at SLCC and then continue their education on the same campus to earn a bachelor's degree from the University of Utah. This collaboration between the two schools brings higher education closer to home for students in the South Jordan, Riverton, Bluffdale, Herriman and Draper communities.

Students can earn associate’s degrees in Business, Economics, Education, Psychology, General Social & Behavioral Sciences or Computer Science Information Systems and then go on to earn a bachelor’s degree in a number of areas through the U of U. Learn more here.

HB 261 and HB 257 Frequently Asked Questions

Dear Faculty, Staff and Students: The Utah Legislature recently passed two bills that significantly impact higher education:  HB 261  Equal Opportunity Initiatives and HB  257  Sex-Based Designations for Privacy, Anti-Bullying, and Women’s Opportunities. Salt Lake Community College is deeply committed to our students, faculty, and staff. We strive to be a place where all are welcomed and respected. While there are many unknowns about the ultimate effect these bills will have on some student and staff support programs, be assured that SLCC will maintain an environment where all can find success and feel a sense of belonging. In the coming months, college leadership will work to gain clarity and determine the changes necessary for legislative compliance. We will also share this information as it becomes available.  We realize that during this time, some in our college community may feel unsettled and stressed. We encourage you to make use of available SLCC resources designed to support y
