Fashion Institute Seniors Show Off Their Work

The Salt Lake Community College Fashion Institute is proud to present “Meraki Garden – Experience the Essence of Creative Fashion,” the name of this year’s annual senior collections runway show. Twelve graduating designers will present their collections in a professional runway event at the SLCC South City Campus Atrium, April 21, 6-9 p.m.

Experience a “Fashion Presentation” one hour before the main runway event, featuring an array of SLCC fashion classes showcasing their work that covers costuming, millinery, embellishments, outerwear, knitwear, bridal, intimates and boot and shoe making. The event will also feature an exhibit to honor and showcase the amazing costuming designs of the late Cinamon Hadley, a Fashion Institute student who passed away earlier this year. The Meraki Garden runway event is presented by the SLCC Fashion Productions class.

The SLCC South City Campus Atrium is located at 1575 South State Street in Salt Lake City. Doors open and the Fashion Presentation starts at 6 p.m. – the main runway event starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are available through Eventbrite and are $25 for general admission and $10 for students and anyone 18 or younger.

SLCC’s Fashion Institute, coordinated by Mojdeh Sakaki, is a training ground for diversely talented fashion designers and merchandisers.
