For many students, enrolling in college can be daunting. Since 2017, SLCC has worked to identify barriers to student admissions, enrollment, registration and retention in order to make the process more streamlined and student friendly. The result is a new online enrollment tracker designed to take the guesswork out of the onboarding process.
The enrollment tracker, which launched Oct. 15, provides SLCC students with a real-time, visual snapshot of their enrollment progress and the status of each of the four required steps to becoming fully registered at SLCC. Located under the Semester Checklist (formerly New Student) tab in the MySLCC portal, the tool will help students easily determine if they have met each of the four requirements of admission, placement, orientation and registration. If a requirement has not been met, links embedded within the tracker will connect students with college resources to help them complete the requirement.
In addition to enrollment status, the tracker will provide a list of English and Math courses students are eligible to take based on their individual assessment scores as well as provide a countdown to their registration deadlines. The semester checklist will also provide links to resources that are not required but are often critical to getting set up for a successful start at SLCC, including financial planning (financial aid, scholarships and student employment) and information on the OneCard, transit, parking and textbooks.
