Events, Activities Planned for Disability Awareness Week



Join us for a week of events and hands-on activities during Disability Awareness Week September 16-20 as we go “Beyond Barriers” to expand our knowledge of inclusion and diversity at Salt Lake Community College. Learn about access as we listen to international speaker Thomas J. Tobin, who will offer helpful tools and information to put into action. Here’s the lineup of events:

·       Monday, Sept. 16, 12-1 p.m. watch the movie Fixed at the Taylorsville Redwood Campus in the Student Event Center.

·       Tuesday, Sept. 17, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. visit the Technology Fair at the South City Campus.

·       Thursday, Sept. 19, 1-2:30 p.m. attend the Ladies in Motion Panel featuring SLCC student Lina Nguyen as she talks about being a wheelchair user.

·       Friday, Sept. 20, 8:30 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. attend the keynote by Thomas J. Tobin on Universal Access Design.
