SLCC Summer Athletic Camps


Salt Lake Community College is hosting a series of sports camps for Summer 2012.

Men's Basketball Camps
What:              Youth Camp
When:             June 25-27, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Where:            Taylorsville Redwood Campus, Lifetime Activities Center
Who:               Players grades 3-6
Cost:               $85 per person

What:              Elite Skills Camp
When:             June 25-27, 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Where:            Taylorsville Redwood Campus, Lifetime Activities Center
Who:               Players grades 7-12    
Cost:               $125 per person

Women's Basketball Camp
What:              SLCC Summer Jamboree Team Camp
When:             June 20 – 22, 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (lunch break from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m.)
Where:            Taylorsville Redwood Campus, Lifetime Activities Center
Who:               Players from grades 9 - 12
Cost:               $250 per team or  $400 for two teams



What:            Elite Advanced Skills Camp
When            August 9 & 10. 9th: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., 10th: 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Where:        
Taylorsville Redwood Campus, Lifetime Activities Center
Who:
            High School level players, ages 14-18
Cost:

Softball Camp
What:              Softball Camp 2012 All Skills Summer Camp
When:             June 12-14, 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.
Where:            Bruin Softball Field, Taylorsville Redwood Campus
Cost:               $100

Volleyball Camp
What:              SLCC Volleyball Team Camp
When:             June 11-13, 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. - morning session, 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. afternoon session
Where:            Taylorsville Redwood Campus, Lifetime Activities Center
Who:               Teams grades 9-12
Cost:               $300 per team

What:              SLCC Volleyball Youth Camp
When:             June 11-13, 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Who:               Players ages 8-15
Where:            Taylorsville Redwood Campus, Lifetime Activities Center
Cost:               $75 per player

Recognizing SLCC's 2025 Distinguished Faculty Lecturer Andrew Vogt, PhD Associate Professor, Engineering

The Distinguished Faculty Lecturer is a recognition of quality work by one of Salt Lake Community College’s full-time faculty and a charge to develop that work over an academic year into a public presentation. A committee chosen by the Associate Provost for Learning Advancement selects the faculty lecturer each year. The lecture takes place in the spring. Distinguished Faculty Lecturer Andrew Vogt, PhD Associate Professor, Engineering Dr. Andrew Vogt’s teaching philosophy is guided by two principles, curiosity and efficiency.  “Curiosity leads us to study a topic and allows us to really understand the ins and outs of research, while efficiency is all about sustainability,” he says. Did you know you can access SLCC lab software for free from your own computing device?   Come learn how SLCC is supporting BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) with All Access. The goal of All Access is to provide any time, any place, and any device access to college computing and lab software SLCC students, faculty and staff.  All Access works on almost any device from a PC or Mac, to tablets and smart phones.  With All Access you can use programs like Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, AutoCAD, MatLab, Mathematica, MyITLab, NetBeans, and online Library Databases.  We also provide you with online storage space so you can save your files in the cloud and have access to them wherever you are.  Anyone is welcome to this session where we will cover the basics of All Access, give you some tips and tricks for getting the most out the system, and we’ll also have some people there to help get your computer set up.  When and where: ...
