Salt Lake Community College’s Grand Theatre presents the Tony Award winning play Into the Woods from October 11-27. The Grand Theatre is located at 1575 South State St. in Salt Lake City, Utah.
“The beautifully written songs and witty book continue to make this an audience favorite,” says Richard Scott, Executive Artistic Director for the Grand, “and the show’s beautifully delivered message holds a soft spot in the hearts of many theater lovers.”
Directed by Neil Vanderpool, SLCC Associate Dean of Communication and Performing Arts, the production stars Grand Theatre audience favorites Camille Van Wagoner as Jack (of the beanstalk)’s mother and Ashley Gardner Carlson as Cinderella.
Music and lyrics for Into the Woods were composed by Stephen Sondheim; James Lapine provided the play’s ‘book’—non-sung dialogue and storyline. The show has been awarded ten Tony Awards and seven Drama Desk awards over the life of the original and revival New York casts and three Laurence Olivier awards for the original London cast.
Tickets are available at the Grand Theatre box office. Call: (801) 957-3322 or visit: www.the-grand.org.
