The Grand Theatre’s new “Backstage at The Grand” Concert Series will kick off with “Songs of Peggy Lee” performed by Erica Hansen. The concerts will be held from September 13-15 at 7:30 p.m. in the Grand Theatre’s new Backstage Theatre, located at 1575 South State St.
Hansen will sing selections from Peggy Lee’s career, which spans musical time periods that include Benny Goodman and Paul McCartney. Peggy Lee’s regal bearing and mastery of jazz rhythms led Duke Ellington to call her ‘The Queen’.
“Erica has a successful history of portraying beloved singers here at the Grand,” said Grand Theatre executive artistic director Richard Scott. “The similarities between Erica and Peggy are striking – both in vocal ability and performance dynamic.”
Tickets can be obtained by calling the Grand Theatre box office at (801) 957-3322 or online at www.the-grand.org
