Congressman Jason Chaffetz recently visited Utah’s first Homeland Security and Emergency Management Program at Salt Lake Community College.
Representative Chaffetz met with administrators, key constituents and program developers to review the structure and elements of the program. The degree was developed in partnership with the Department of Homeland Security, Transportation Security Administration, the Unified Police Department of Greater Salt Lake, various medical institutions and other regional agencies and employers.
The program prepares students for entry-level careers in the field of homeland security and emergency management. This program is unique as Utah’s only multi-discipline, multi-agency approach to the protection of Utah’s citizens, property and critical infrastructure.
