Stress Management Program
This 8-week stress management program aims to educate participants about stress, the importance of having it, how to prevent it from causing harm, and how to grow through it. Class will be held weekly via WebEx from July 23–September 10, 2020.

Employee Wellness: Personal Training
The Wellness Program is designed with your wellbeing in mind. There are many ways to engage with the Wellness Program as an employee. Visit the Employee Wellness Personal Training website for additional information.
The Employee Wellness Personal Training team would like to invite you to participate in a special introductory session called “Session Zero” to help you learn more about personal training.
The aim of this introductory session is to:
- Explain the functionality of the program
- Participant selection process
- Expectations of Personal Trainers
- Expectations of Clients
A recorded version of Session Zero can be viewed in the online Personal Training intake form.
To ensure your safety and the safety of our Personal Trainers, all personal training sessions will be conducted remotely via WebEx. Your trainer will communicate your schedule and WebEx link during your initial meeting.

Meditative Pause at SLCC
Join SLCC faculty Heidi O’Donoghue and Andrea Malouf each week for Meditative Pause for People in Higher Education. Each week we will take a break from doing and problem-solving to come together for half-hour sessions to connect, relax and center via WebEx. We’ll explore breathing and relaxation techniques, as well as best practices for mindful communication and well-being. Each session will include an introduction to the weekly topic, a guided meditation and then a group reflection.

Canvas User Credential Course
The Canvas User Credential is a 12-hour, fully online course. Registration is currently open for the fall course. The course will open on 8/10/20. The last day to register is 11/10/20. The course must be completed by 12/10/20. The course is self-paced, so you can jump in then and still finish the course before fall semester begins if you’d like. Look for course code DCUC in SLCC’s training registration system.
Online Teacher Credential Course
The Online Teacher Credential is a 16-hour, fully online course. Registration is currently open for the fall course that starts on 9/14/20 and ends on 11/2/20. The last day to register is 9/9/20. Faculty must be proficient in Canvas or earn the Canvas User Credential prior to taking the Online Teacher Credential course. Look for course code DOTC in SLCC’s training registration system.
Teach Anywhere Webinar
- August 20, 5–6 p.m.
- August 21, 11 a.m.–12 p.m.
The Teach Anywhere webinar introduces SLCC faculty to the many resources available, helping you transition from teaching on campus to teaching remotely. In this one-hour webinar, you will:
- Learn how to access eLearning's Teach Anywhere Guide
- Learn where to get help with Canvas
- Explore videoconferencing tools that you can use to create a virtual classroom, including WebEx, Microsoft Teams and BigBlueButton, and discuss the pros and cons of each tool
Specifically, you'll learn how to:
- Add WebEx to Canvas
- Schedule a training session in WebEx
- Start a training session in WebEx
- Monitor chat and hand raising from participants
- Create breakout sessions for student groups
- Add Microsoft Teams to Canvas
- Schedule a meeting and invite your students to the meeting
The facilitators will also leave some time at the end of the session to answer questions from participants.
