Salt Lake Community College Named to 2012 President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll

Salt Lake Community College has been named to the 2012 President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll. SLCC has earned this honor every year since the Corporation for National & Community Service established the program in 2006. SLCC is one of only 47 community colleges to earn this distinction in 2012.

The President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll annually highlights the role colleges and universities play in solving community problems and placing more students on a lifelong path of civic engagement by recognizing institutions that achieve meaningful, measurable outcomes in the communities they serve.

SLCC and the other recipients of the award were announced at the American Council on Education’s 94th Annual Meeting Ahead of the Curve in Los Angeles, CA.

About the College: Salt Lake Community College is an accredited, student-focused, urban college meeting the diverse needs of the Salt Lake community. Educating and training more than 62,000 people each year, the College is the largest institution of higher education in Utah. The College has 13 sites, an eCampus, and nearly 1,000 continuing education sites located throughout the Salt Lake valley. Courses are offered during both traditional and accelerated semesters, during the daytime, evenings, and weekends.
