StartUp Utah, an initiative to build and support startup communities throughout Utah, will launch its first event on October 8 from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. The event will be held at Salt Lake Community College, Miller Campus, in the Free Enterprise Center Auditorium at 9750 South 300 West, in Sandy.
National speaker Brad Feld will provide the keynote address to discuss the value of startup communities, and will share insights from his latest book, "Startup Communities: Building an Entrepreneurial Ecosystem in Your City". Feld is a Managing Director at the Foundry Group, a venture capital firm, is the co-founder of TechStars, a mentor-driven accelerator, and is author of several books and blogs. A book signing will follow the event, and a select number of ticket holders will receive a copy of Feld’s new book.
StartUp Utah is an entrepreneurial community and regional initiative to increase the breadth and depth of the entrepreneurial ecosystem across the state of Utah. The mission of the initiative is to multiply connections, improve access to entrepreneurial education, and build a more giving and supportive entrepreneurial community.
