Sherri Butler Named SLCC 2013 Graduate of Excellence

Sherri Butler is the 2013 Salt Lake Community College Graduate of Excellence from the School of Science, Mathematics, & Engineering. Butler, originally from San Jose, CA, majored in fitness technician and graduates with a perfect 4.0 grade point average and high honors.

“I’ve always enjoyed moving and have been amazed at how our bodies work and what they are capable of doing. I wanted to know why,” Butler said. “My last semester both my husband and oldest son were deployed to Afghanistan. It was a challenge, but I came away from school and those challenges realizing that I am capable of so much.”

SLCC’s Graduates of Excellence recognize one student from each of the College’s schools.

Salt Lake Community College’s annual Undergraduate Projects, Performances, Presentations, and Research Conference (UP3RC) is set to take place on April 2, at the Taylorsville Redwood Campus, offering students a chance to showcase their academic achievements, fostering a culture of intellectual exchange.
