SLCC is part of a U.S. Department of Labor grant and a national consortium including colleges from six states. The grant’s mission is to offer services to individuals who are seeking training and job placement assistance in the following areas: Geospatial Technologies and Mobile Application Development.
Students enrolled in the grant receive:
-mentoring from industry professionals
-career counseling
-individualized academic counseling,
-specialized tutoring
-virtual internships
*These additional services are only available to students who agree to and qualify for the grant program. The academic side is the same for grant funded and non-grant funded students.
Careers are available in many industries including development planning, business and marketing, health care, education, defense, intelligence, utilities, natural resources sciences, medicine, public safety and more.
