Each session will include a very brief introduction to the weekly topic, a guided meditation and then a short group reflection.
No prior experience or registration required. Just join when you can. If you’d like to receive weekly web-ex reminders, please send your email and your department name to Andrea (andrea.malouf@slcc.edu) or Heidi (heidi.o’donoghue@slcc.edu). Or just email with questions.

The Power of Our Stories to Heal, featuring keynote speaker, Sara Jones
Listen here to the recorded session from 10/9/2020
Sara Jones is CEO of InclusionPro®, where she consults thoughtful leaders on building inclusive cultures, with a particular focus on team performance and team innovation. Her life and career path have taken her through unexpected twists and turns — from patent attorney to tech CEO. Her ability to connect with people has enabled her to build strong communities of influence.
In 2018, after 42 years of separation, Sara discovered her South Korean birth family — thanks to a mysterious tattoo that her birth father gave her when she was two years old. Her story made national news in South Korea: https://youtu.be/WVAvDlXAOB4. TED featured her sometimes heartbreaking talk about the emotional complexity of adoption, which has over 1.5 million views: go.ted.com/sarajones.
Sara will share her insight on validating our own personal stories — everyone has one! She’ll discuss how to blend our stories together to contribute to a community of inclusion. Finally, she’ll bring deeper understanding to how we use our stories to bridge the issues that divide us.
